Now what?

Welcome to Acken Island!



It’s not a small island, and yet, the small city that is Silvenia Academy takes up most of it. It’s bustling, busy, and full of people. It is also, for now, peaceful.

The lodging Lortel has prepared is far out of the city center, nestled on the coast far from prying, curious eyes. The ocean stretches away just a few dozen feet from the entrance of this spacious seaside mansion. It’s light and airy here, nothing like the home they so briefly knew. It should be plenty of space, and privacy, for everyone, the more-than-human members of the group included.

• Settling In: It would be difficult even for Lortel to procure a 22-bedroom mansion, so there’s only a measly eight bedrooms. You’ll all have to share rooms again. Wander in, get settled, pick out your rooms, and say hello to people you may not have seen in a couple months now! The house also has plenty of rooms to explore, including an enormous kitchen and gorgeously appointed dining room, a great room dominated by a large and cozy fireplace, a small library, a breezy veranda that wraps around the entire house (for great sunrise and sunset views!), a rather austere office (that’s Lortel’s, thank you very much), an entertainment/game room, and more.


• Bonfire Night: On a stretch of sand down on the beach, Lortel has set up (or rather, had someone else set up) a sizable bonfire to enjoy as the sun goes down! There’s blankets and chairs to sit on and snacks to munch. Will you play a song, or tell a scary story? Maybe you’ll build a sandcastle? This beach is your oyster!


• It Never Stays Quiet For Long: Back on campus, there is an explosion. Lortel will seem largely unbothered by this, and tell you not to worry if you ask. It’s probably Ed, she’ll comment, with soft, fond exasperation. This mild mood is lost when what looks like a sea serpent crawls out of the ocean. Something about the explosion must have disturbed it, because it’s not happy. Will you fight? With enough of a group effort, you may be able to drive it back to whence it came…!


• Let’s Cut Loose: Well, after all that’s tidied up, Lortel will proceed as planned: with a party! First, of course, there’s setting up; there’s furniture to move out of the way in the great room, streamers to hang, and food to prepare. Lortel has even arranged for a wardrobe to be available to pick an outfit from. It’s not as fancy as the ball, but she does make sure nice clothes are available for everyone if they so choose to dress up a little. Then it’s time to party! All dolled up after the group’s effort, the great room makes a good impromptu dance floor/party central. Dance, drink (there’s alcoholic and non-alcoholic options! be good, kids), mingle, and be merry.
